This summer we had a family of baby ducks born in the pond in our backyard... Stone has taken it on as his responsibility to fed them whenever he sees them on the grass. SWIMMING LESSONS!Stone lucked out and got private swimming lessons this year! He began the summer in a swimming vest and now he never wears it... he can swim the length of the pool unassisted and can even get a dive stick at 5 feet! At the beginning of June we hit the sprayground with the Herndons, Gists and Chans! Ten years ago, we all were in Japan together and now we have 9 soon to be 10 kids between us! My mom and sister made the trek to Oklahoma last weekend. While they were here we hit to zoo. We decided the best and easiest way to see the zoo would be on the tram... in my opinion definitely the best $6.00 spend at the zoo. Stone is old enough to be officially enrolled in Pre-K at our local public school, Orvis Risner. We had the "BIG ULTRASOUND" today! But we do not know the sex YET! We had the tech write the answer to the big question on a piece of paper and seal it in an envelope. We are still not 100% sure we want to know! When the doctor came in the room to do another baby anatomy he got a picture of the baby giving a "thumbs up"! It was time to make dinner and since Stone loves to help out in the kitchen I employed his help to shuck the corn. He was more than happy to help. This is the first time this summer for us to get corn on the cob so he was interested to see how it all works! Very concentrated on his task... I love having a helper in the kitchen. I can't believe Stone is 4... time flies and stands still in the same moment when you are a parent.  This has been such a joyful journey with our far share of bumps in the road.  Being Mommy to Stone is the most rewarding job I have ever had the privilege to hold; he is the sweetest boy and he brings me so much joy everyday.  Each day is a new adventure to him and he loves to be on the go!  Life

Stone and I took a little road trip today to visit family.  Our nephew/ cousin is in Tech School at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, TX.  It is alway a treat to see family; we have not been able to make the long trek to Boston since 2007.    Our first stop was the mall... Last night, Stone had his end of year SonShine School program.  He was so excited to get on stage and sing; his class sang two really fun songs and I enjoyed hearing them over and over again as he practiced them at home, in the car, at the park... everywhere!    My students did a great job singing their two songs.  One song they sing is about what they want to be when they grow up; I always enjoy

We headed to the zoo the other day with Isaiah and Shannon.  We went to go see the Dinosaurs Unearthed exhibit.  Stone had so much fun playing with Isaiah, seeing the dinosaur exhibit and just plain hanging out at the zoo. Both boys wanted to have the dinosaur eating their head! First Isaiah then Stone. The dinosaurs were huge and moved very  life-like.  But, I think the boys favorite part was

We had a great time coloring eggs this evening.  This was really the first time Stone could enjoy it and make his own little creations!Everything is ready to go!Stone drying off his egg... got to have a nice clean and dry palette!  He really enjoyed drawing on his egg with the magic crayon! Putting it on the holder and he is just about ready to dip it into the dye!Time for  little dye dipping!

On Wednesday, Stone and I headed to UCO's International Food Festival with Reiko and Hitomi.  We enjoyed tasting some of the different ethnic foods and seeing traditional dress from the various countries. Stone invited a few friends over today to bake and frost cookies.  It was a blast for the kids and the moms!  Stone says his favorite things about making cookies is; "Um, making cookies with cookie cutters and my friends."Jake rolling the doughStone and MAC rolling the dough... Stone has always loved drawing and anything art related.  Recently, he has started drawing things that we can make out after we ask him what it is.  As we were driving home from the zoo today, Stone said, "Look Mommy, it is me."  I was so impressed with his drawing... I thought it was great so I had to preserve it quickly with my iphone!      A little while later he said, "Look Mommy, it is you!"

Stone and I headed to the zoo today to see Santa and enjoy some free donuts and cocoa.  Since it was about 12 degrees outside; we skipped the feeding of the animals and headed straight to the canopy where Santa would end up.  We got to enjoy free cocoa and donuts while awaiting his arrival.    Stone sitting in the 'Big Guys' chair before he arrived...
