Last night, Stone and I got to skype with Yumiko and Yamato. Stone and Yamato loved talking to each other and showing their favorite things. Yamato spoke English and Stone got to try out his Nihongo! Stone asked to talk to Yamato as soon as he woke up today! We will have to schedule another "date".... SOON.

Day 25- Communication at its best!
Lj always talks about how the world is getting smaller... I would have to agree! Air travel and internet has pretty much cut any barriers that distance would place on a relationship.

Day 24- KUNG FUUUUU!
Stone has been waiting so patiently to see Kung Fu Panda. We decided to take him Wednesday evening... he loved the movie and sat quietly watching the movie the whole time. It was one of the better children's movies... it made me a little homesick for Asia.
After the movie we had to try out our own kung fu kicks!

Day 23- Anpan Man Dance!
Our house is overrun with Anpan Man stuff... I spent way too much on fun Anpan Man stuff when we were in Japan in March... my argument is... watching and listening to it will help his Japanese.
I caught him doing this dance one day... he knows it step by step... way too cute!
Day 22- Ice Cream
Is there anything better than enjoying an ice cream cone on a hot summer day?
Stone says; "no!"... and he got to enjoy his first vanilla soft serve cone of the summer at the zoo the other day... talk about messy in the Oklahoma heat.

Day 21- A Day at the Zoo
We headed to the zoo last weekend to celebrate Elijah's 5th birthday! The weather was wonderful... the nice Oklahoma wind kept it nice and breezy.
Stone and the birthday boy, Elijah, in front of the Centennial Train!
Ready for our ride on the train... I love this train... it is a quick little trip but fun for the boys. Elijah was not so keen on the loud whistle so he kept his ear covered the whole time!
After the ride we headed out to see some of the animals... of course Stone's favorite part of the zoo is all the bronze statues to climb on and the water sprayers!
After a wonderful lunch, we headed to the carousal. Stone chose the panda... he is in love with movie trailer for Kung Fu Panda.

Day 19- Sprayground Fun
Oklahoma City Parks have these cool little spraygrounds all over the city that are free. I knew Stone would love it so Sharon and I planned a little playdate for Stone and Tyler. We headed to a sprayground not too fare from our house. We got there a little early and were the only ones there so Stone got to enjoy it all to himself. It was so fun for him! I am all about free so I imagine we might spend a few good hours visiting all the spraygrounds this summer.

Day 18- Oklahoma Weather
Summer in Oklahoma means storms. Whenever a storm comes Lj loves to go outside for just few minutes to watch it... yesterday the storm moved right over us and the rain was coming done horizontally but thankfully the it moved quickly with no tornadoes or hail! Lj decided to set up the camera to document the magnitude of the storms here... he got some great shots! Stone saw these pictures this morning and he said God made the fireworks pointing to the lightening... Gods power is so amazing and I love it when Stone points out Gods wondrous work!

Day 17- Potty Time
We have been encouraging Stone to use the big potty for a while now... he really has not shown so much interest in it until today! He has been in undies and has told me when he needs to go. Of course, he could just want to get the reward but he has been in undies since 8:30 this morning and no accidents... it would be just lovely to save $60.00 a month on diapers!

This picture was taken a few weeks ago... he was just trying it out for fun!

Day 16- Stone Size
Every time Stone sees something small he always says it is Stone size! So when he saw Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream in the mini cups he insisted it was Stone size and he just had to have it. He walked proudly through the store carrying his own special size ice cream and could not wait until after dinner to eat it. He just cracks us up with the things he comes up with!

Day 15- Little People SUSHI?!?
Stone has taken a new found interest in his Little People. He has prepared them up for a trip to Japan, gone sailing on the Ark and even gone to school. He can spend a good hour playing with them. I love to watch him use his imagination.
I asked Stone what "daddy" was doing and he told he was getting ready to eat dinner? Sushi anyone?

Day 12- Our Super Hero
Reiko got Stone this ANPAN MAN jacket for his birthday! He loves it and wears it everywhere... even though it is a little too small (only size they had). I just hope he does not grow too much before next halloween because I am sure he will want to be...
ANPAN MAN!

Day 10- A New Hobby for Mommy!
Today I tried my hand at cake decorating.... I was a bit nervous but since I decided to do anANPAN MAN themed party for Stone I needed to make a cake to fit the theme. I baked my first cake yesterday but it did not come out of the pan so well so today I baked a new cake and this one came out of the pan perfectly! During nap time I decided to try to make the frosting brown using some suggestions a friend of mine shared with me. It kind of just took off from there... and the whole cake got decorated. I am quite happy with how it turned out!

Day 8- Out of the Mouths of Toddlers
Yesterday, Stone and I ran to the store real quick to get a few things for dinner. Since we were having salad I decided to get the usual salad fixings. When we got to the check-out Stone asked to get into the big part of the cart to put the groceries on the conveyer belt... so he got into the big part and started placing the items on the conveyer belt commenting on each item. He got to the cucumber and said; “Momma, this is a boy cucumber!” A few scenarios ran through my mind and I asked, “Stone, why is it a boy cucumber?” I have to admit I was holding my breath for the answer... he looked at me in all seriousness and said, “his name is Larry!”. Ahhh... gotta love Veggie Tales!
