Crazy Zoo Fun

Stone and I headed to the zoo on Friday... it was finally a nice day and we had to check out the new children's zoo! We invited the Chans to join us and then as we were walking into the zoo we ran into Stone's school buddy Payton. The boys had a great time playing!

Stone posing as we waited for all our friends to arrive.
Hands up on the slide! Great fun!
Payton and Stone
A nice senioresque pose on a rock!
Looking at all the big coi fish.
Time to hit the petting zoo area... they had to goats out and the boys enjoyed feeding and pettine them. So much fun!
After the children's zoo part we headed to see the new baby giraffe. She hung close to her momma... so cute and sweet!
It was a great zoo day and we look forward to many more sunny days so we can be outside!

Manna Bags

Tonight at Connection group John O. gave a lesson on Matthew 25 talking about how when we give food and drinks to the poor and needy we in turn are serving God. After the lesson all the children made Manna bags to give to those they see who are in need! It was a great lesson!

The kiddos filling their Manna Bags... meat, fruit cups, water, pudding, granola bars... all non-perishable and sure to be a blessing to someone!
The kids put a special note in the bag after they were filled!
Sydney wrote a very special message or her Manna bag..."Just remember God loves you for who you are... rich or poor"! The wisdom of a sweet child!
Stone and his Manna bag!
It is such a wonderful blessing to our family to be part of such a fabulous connection group!

Snow Day #2

We are in the midst of the Winter Storm of 2010! It all began yesterday with rain followed by sleet, some freezing rain, then finally snow! Since the roads were predicted to be so bad this morning OC and all the Starbucks in the area closed for the day so that meant even Lj and I got a true snow day! It has snowed pretty much all day today! It is beautiful and being a Northern girl... I love the snow!
Stone enjoys playing in the snow and has learned how to adapt to life with no snow pants... jammy pants under your jeans work well!
This Boy.. loves being outside!
Lj being the one who got his driver license in a blizzard always gets the itch to go out and drive on the treacherous snow covered roads! Today we all headed out to find a sled... we hit three stores then ended up at Home Depot where we found a mixing tray. Stones little body fits perfectly in the tray and it was pretty cheap as well!

Stone really enjoyed sledding down the ice covered sidewalk at OC!

After a few times down the sidewalk we decided to hit the snow covered hill... he loved it forwards, backwards and even tripping over!
Stone and his new sled! Ready to go agian!
After a few times down the hill; everyone was turning into a popsicle so we decided to head home and enjoy some coca in our warm house! All in all this is what I call a great snow day!

Fun Times in the Snow!

Stone had so much fun playing in the snow... he got to make snow angels, sled, throw a few snowballs and even eat a little bit! The snow was a great treat for Christmas but unfortunately Oklahoma does not have the equipment to remove the snow so the roads are still crazy 4 days later and we are expected to get more later this week! Fun times for winter break!
Even the poor Canadian Geese and ducks were frozen on the pond!

Christmas 2009

Santa arrived safe after his sleigh got stuck in the snow! A little push and after parking it in the nearest spot Santa was on his way carrying the gifts! The gifts looked great under the tree... I love the fact that he wrote in his letter to Santa on Christmas Eve to please bring him a Superman Costume!
(Santa got the costume 90% off after Halloween!)
Rubbing his eyes while checking out the gifts from the Jolly man in the Red Suit!
He was quite excited that Santa remembered to bring him just what he wanted!
A little Sushi set from Mom and Dad- definitely could not compete with Santa's gift!
Stone lost under the tree looking for more presents!
All his loot! We did not go too crazy this year! Stone was quite spoiled when we were in Boston and Pittsburg!
He really enjoyed his marble run he got from Auntie Carla- it just about killed him to not be able to open it until Christmas day- it was under the tree since the tree went up at the beginning of December!
Daddy and Stone carrying out all the trash! They are bundled up since we got 14 inches of snow on Christmas Eve!

A Busy Month

September was a crazy busy month for us! Here is a highlight of the big things that happened, of course there was a lot of fun activities in between!

Stone started Pre-K at Sonshine School! He loves his teachers and was so happy to be back at school with his friends!
Labor day weekend we got to see Aaron and Izumi and play with baby Celeste! She is such a cutie pie!
We hit the first praise and pizza of 2009-2010 with the international students and Stone was so happy to see ALoys!
We were invited to a TCK dinner with the OC students! The activity was to make a pizza that represented the country you are associated with ... we made an Anpanman face pizza!
Feeling a bit homesick we decided to hit Tokyo Sushi for dinner one night! It was delicious and recharged us to focus more clearly on our life here!
Stone and I took advantage of free Chick-fil-A one afternoon so yummy and notice which team he chose to support? Go Steelers!
Lj turned 35 this month... we enjoyed a park celebration with our Japan friends!
Stone and I along with some friends went to go see Thomas and Friends when he rolled into town! Stone had a blast (between the melt-downs)... this is so much fun and free if you chose not to ride the train!
The last weekend of September we headed to Dallas to see my aunt who was in town for a business trip. It was so nice to get away and see the sights of Dallas/Fort Worth.

We got to see the cattle herd in the Fort Worth Stockyards! The Stockyards were such a neat place!

While in Dallas we also got to hit the Dallas World Aquarium! Stone loved seeing all the fish. We had Ruth take our picture through one of the tanks... notice the background?! Is that a subliminal hint or what?

September was busy month but full of fun! We are looking forward to October... pumpkin patch, fall break, cooler weather, halloween!

Horton Hears a Who!

I got the game Horton Hears a Who! on deep discount after Christmas. I had originally bought the game as a gift but sent something else so I pulled out out for Stone on this semi- rainy day.

He was so excited to play it... look at the happy smile!
Stone is catching the clovers!
Even Daddy got in on the fun!
The face of victory... Stone won both games!
It is the simplest things that makes Stone happy... I love the simple joys of parenthood!
