A Busy Month

September was a crazy busy month for us! Here is a highlight of the big things that happened, of course there was a lot of fun activities in between!

Stone started Pre-K at Sonshine School! He loves his teachers and was so happy to be back at school with his friends!
Labor day weekend we got to see Aaron and Izumi and play with baby Celeste! She is such a cutie pie!
We hit the first praise and pizza of 2009-2010 with the international students and Stone was so happy to see ALoys!
We were invited to a TCK dinner with the OC students! The activity was to make a pizza that represented the country you are associated with ... we made an Anpanman face pizza!
Feeling a bit homesick we decided to hit Tokyo Sushi for dinner one night! It was delicious and recharged us to focus more clearly on our life here!
Stone and I took advantage of free Chick-fil-A one afternoon so yummy and notice which team he chose to support? Go Steelers!
Lj turned 35 this month... we enjoyed a park celebration with our Japan friends!
Stone and I along with some friends went to go see Thomas and Friends when he rolled into town! Stone had a blast (between the melt-downs)... this is so much fun and free if you chose not to ride the train!
The last weekend of September we headed to Dallas to see my aunt who was in town for a business trip. It was so nice to get away and see the sights of Dallas/Fort Worth.

We got to see the cattle herd in the Fort Worth Stockyards! The Stockyards were such a neat place!

While in Dallas we also got to hit the Dallas World Aquarium! Stone loved seeing all the fish. We had Ruth take our picture through one of the tanks... notice the background?! Is that a subliminal hint or what?

September was busy month but full of fun! We are looking forward to October... pumpkin patch, fall break, cooler weather, halloween!

Homecoming 2008

2008 was the 10 year reunion of our graduation from college... even though we decided to forgo any of the actually reunion festivities we went to the children's carnival complete with pony rides and moon bounces galore!  Stone loves to ride these ponies... he is quite fond of them!  I am glad he still wants a puppy and not a pony!

Day 30- Arbuckle Mountains

A few weeks ago Lj took his students on the weekly field trip to the Wichita Mountains.  Of course I could not pass up opportunity to see another great part of Oklahoma so Stone and I tagged along!  We enjoyed the car ride... Stone was pretty happy the whole time!
Stone on top of the mountian... Lj got over his fear and let us go out on the rocks!
Daddy and Son
Mommy and Stone
Maybe there will be some rock climbing in his future... no fear of heights yet!
The flowers blooming on top of the mountain were so pretty!
After standing on top of the mountain we headed to the wildlife center... very cool hands-on part for Stone to touch all the antlers and fur... so FUN!
We got to see some longhorns and Elk/ bison wandering... they were really close to the car.

After a busy day we stopped in Meers to enjoy a famous Meers Burger... made from Longhorn beef... it was tasty but I much preferred the peach cobbler for dessert.
It was great to see another part of Oklahoma... and it was nice to see a part that was not flat!

Day 29- Family FUN Night

Each year OC hosts family fun night in conjunction with Memorial Roads VBS.  There are free pony rides, moon bounces, slides and food...

Stone loves to ride the ponies so that is what he is drawn to first and foremost.
This year they had a teeny tiny petting zoo... Stone loved petting Bugsy.

Stone tends to avoid all inflatables at all costs... we asked him at dinner if he wanted to try them with his little friends... "No"... then we asked if he wanted to do it with Reiko and he said, "Yes"!  So off we went to the big slide...

He had so much fun and there was no turning back... he even went on the inflatables by himself.

Of course the best thing about attending events like this is catching up with friends.  Here is JP and Stone... buds from Sonshine School.
